10 Must-have Photographs On Your Wedding Day!

As a wedding photographer, I’m always looking for the little details and split-seconds of emotion to try and capture on your big day. In addition, there are a few mega-important wedding day photographs not to miss! Here’s a list of 10 I feel are most important!

#1: The wedding details photographs

I’m talking jewellery, flowers, shoes, any accessories you might have. These little details all have a special meaning for brides, and it’s something that I feel is very important to capture.

#2: The wedding dress photograph

Without anyone in it! Again, this means a lot and it’s often something that there has been a lot of deliberation over. It’s important to capture the wedding dress in all it’s glory.  Let it speak for itself.

#3: Getting ready for your wedding day

The anticipation on the wedding morning, that excitement as everyone’s getting ready, it’s a feeling, which is second-to-none. Capturing the bridal preparation of hair and make-up while you’re reflecting on the day ahead makes for some beautiful wedding photographs.

#4: Walking down the aisle

One of the most important parts of the day and a memory that should stay with both of you and whoever walks the bride down the aisle, forever.

#5: The wedding vows

I mean, it’s the whole point of the entire wedding day really, so it’s got to be documented! As you become a married couple, the feeling is amazing and that needs to be remembered forever.

#6: The first kiss

The happy couple’s first kiss as husband and wife. It’s got to be recorded!

#7: Wedding day family photos

Many of your guests will most likely have travelled a long way to be with you, and you’ll want to remember how happy everyone was to be sharing your special day with you.

#8: Bride and groom portraits

While I’m primarily a documentary-style photographer, it’s so important to make time to get a few posed pictures of the happy couple.

#9: Cake cutting photograph

This is such an exciting part of the day! By this point you’re both nice and relaxed and you’re enjoying the party with your nearest and dearest. It’s such a special moment.

#10: Wedding day first dance

Whether a traditional slow dance or a choreographed flash-mob, you’re going to want to remember this moment.
