Newton Hall Wedding Photography: Kathy and Chris

What they say: It's hard to put into words how special and talented Ed is. Put simply, he loves what he does and that means he will go the extra mile to ensure you have the best time and that your photos tell the story of your day beautifully and uniquely in a way that captures you and your partner and all the lovely guests.

From the moment we met Ed he was on hand to offer helpful tips and advice about the wedding planning journey with no pressure to book. Chris and I knew quite quickly he was a good match as we both felt at ease in his company which was so important for us.

We booked quite far in advance but Ed stayed in touch in a gentle, warm and friendly way that made him very approachable. When we met for our engagement shoot it's fair to say we were both feeling a bit nervous but that soon melted away as Ed took us for a wander on a gorgeous beach that is a favourite spot of of ours. He easily led us through some simple pointers to get the best out of our photos as well as striking the balance and letting us have fun including some gorgeous shots of our crazy wee puppy!

Ed managed to totally capture the essence of our wedding morning and our personalities in the gorgeous 'getting ready' shots. Nothing was too much - even a dip in the sea didn't put him off! He blended in with ease with each of us while capturing the moments perfectly.

He is talented, creative, fun and his professionalism shines through. He put us and our guests at ease throughout the entire day and navigated a range of beautiful group portraits as well as our special request to go to the beach with ease and efficiency so as to optimise our time celebrating with the guests. It's really important you choose a photographer who is a good personality match for you and your day as you will spend plenty of time together. I truly believe you won't be disappointed in choosing Ed as they are so easy going and fun to be around you quickly forget you haven't always known each other!

The photos were shared quickly, to an incredibly high standard and provided the perfect 'storybook' of our day. The mix between posed and documentary style photos is perfect to achieve that and helps to show the atmosphere and energy of your day.

He works tirelessly to ensure he captures all the little snapshots that helps you to relive the day. The gorgeous photos were provided to us in both a slideshow with music that made a delightful watch when we got back from honeymoon, as well as the album format and can be shared easily with family and friends.

We can't thank Ed enough for carefully capturing these precious moments and allowing the story of our day to live with us in such beautiful photographs.

Kathy and Chris had their Newton Hall wedding on what turned out to be the most sunny day of the year! It was a really special and beautiful wedding day, and their friends and family were all very happy to see the two of them tie the knot.

Newton Hall wedding photography is a real treat - the venue and grounds provide amazing backdrops for photographs, and the coast is only a few minutes away for some beach wedding photographs too!

On the wedding morning, Kathy got ready with her bridesmaids and her family at Newton Hall, and Chris got ready in a nearby cottage with his groomsmen. Chris even managed to fit in a swim in the sea before the wedding ceremony!

Chris' favourite moment of the day was watching Kathy coming down the aisle. Kathy couldn't pick one specific moment, and says "I loved so many moments. We had such a fun, calm morning getting ready and then hearing all the guests arrive whilst we hid upstairs in the bridal suite. Finally seeing Chris was of course incredible. I loved the beach and would thoroughly recommend a Ceilidh to get the party going!"

Chris says when it comes to choosing suppliers, it's important to get it right; "Understand what matters to you most as a couple. We chose suppliers and a venue that helped us to navigate the day so that our main focus was on having fun with friends and family."

For Kathy, adding in personal touches was important. She says "We tried to use as many 'personal' touches as possible to really make the day our own. This meant all hands on deck the week leading into the wedding but on the day it felt so special to see our personalised favours and confetti etc... in the venue."

Music was an important part of the day, as Kathy explains; "We are very lucky to have a series of super talented musicians in my family who added their own flare to our day in many beautiful ways and for us music really does help set the scene for each component e.g. aisle, signing the register, 'exit'/confetti, drinks reception. We also had a first dance, family dance and final dance picked out which meant we got set time with key people in what is a very joyful but hectic day!"

Chris found the pre-wedding shoot really useful. He says "The pre-wedding shoot offers an opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera and for you to identify how to find a balance between 'posed' and natural shots. Ed will also use this opportunity to give you some pointers for poses that work well so that come the wedding day this will feel really easy."

Kathy really enjoyed the time alone with Chris when taking some photographs, she says "Ed had a seamless way to help us integrate with guests and slip away for special moments including photos in the gardens, a beach trip and night time shots, which were incredible. These moments were some of the only time we got together as a couple and we felt so relaxed that it gave us really special moments together without feeling 'watched' - the photos are testament to this!"

I can't thank Kathy and Chris enough for asking me to be their Newton Hall wedding photographer. What a special day for two special people!
