Ramside Hall Wedding Photography: Laurie and Conor

What they say: I could not speak highly enough of Ed’s service. My husband and I met Ed at a wedding fair and instantly found him to be extremely approachable and easy to talk to. Our priority was to find a photographer we were comfortable with and I can say we 100% made the right decision in booking with Ed. Ed is extremely professional and respectful and has all of the qualities we were hoping for in a photographer.

Ed managed to capture some amazing shots without any staging or interruption. We wanted our wedding to have a relaxed atmosphere which Ed complemented perfectly. Many of our guests commented on how impressed they were with the photographer and how friendly he was. It is no exaggeration to say that Ed went above and beyond his role of photographer and I honestly don’t know how we would have got through the day without him! It was the small details that I appreciated the most such as Ed providing tons of advice (even when it was not relating to photography), fixing my sisters shoe, untangling my jewellery in the morning, working with our wedding coordinator, calming down a nervous groom before speeches, fixing the hoop on my dress when it broke . . . The list goes on.

The photos that Ed returned were stunning! It was so special for us to see so many photos of our guests enjoying themselves and to see the moments we were not a part of. I 100% recommend Ed as a wedding photographer and I cannot put into words how thankful we are to him for everything he done for us on our wedding day.

Laurie and Conor had a beautiful wedding day at Ramside Hall in Durham. It was important to both of them to have a relaxed atmosphere throughout the day that would allow their guests to enjoy themselves and they completely achieved this.

Ramside Hall weddings are fantastic to photograph - the venue is surrounded by lovely grounds for photographs and we had sunshine all day, which made for some lovely pictures.

On the wedding morning, Laurie got ready with her bridesmaids at Ramside Hall, while Conor got ready at home before travelling to the venue.

When I asked Laurie and Conor what their favourite part of the day was, they said that they both loved the dance floor - and I'm not surprised - it was fantastic to see that absolutely everybody was getting up on the dance floor and enjoying themselves.

Laurie and Conor have a number of memories from the day that made it special to them. These include having a smaller bridal party, mentioning their dog Chico in the speeches (as they were very sad that he was not part of the day) and the relaxed atmosphere and informality of the day.

Their advice to future brides and grooms is to "try not to get so nervous that you wish parts of the day away" and to make sure that you "don’t let the small stuff that may go wrong bother you".

They also say "don’t worry about trying to talk to every guest, you will never get around everybody and people understand that" and to "let other people help with things that will inconvenience you, people don’t mind helping".

Thank you Laurie and Conor for letting me photograph such a lovely, relaxed wedding day with lots of genuine emotion and heartfelt moments. They effortlessly created a day very well suited to them, and their guests loved it!
